My kids are better swimmers than I am!

Both Kayden and JRob have started swim team. Last Friday night there was a "mini meet", a chance for the kids to go off the blocks and swim freestyle just as they would in a real meet. Kayden has been practicing with the team but JRob was still doing the preseason clinic and had not even done a full 25yd lap yet. Pretty impressive performance by both kiddos! Especially considering they didnt really know how to swim 5 weeks ago

Sweetest heart

I picked JRob up from school one afternoon and he was very protective about his school bag. I didnt think much of it when he said he had a "surprise" for his Sissy. We headed over to get Kayden from school and he sprinted out of the car to greet her as she exited her classroom.

I heard him say "Sissy, I have a special surprise for you in the car". They rushed over to the car and he handed her a fruit loop necklace he made at school. He says to her "Here you go Sissy, I made you a pretty necklace so you have more jewelry to wear".

He is going to make one lucky girl very happy one day!!

Kaydes, on the other hand, wasnt as impressed. After practically wiping my tears away, Kayden whispers to me, "Mom, its not like a necklace Im actually going to wear!"

Later that day, JRob caught her nibbling one of the fruit loops off the necklace and he just about lost it.

Awwww.....the moment was sure sweet while it lasted!

Love these faces

A day of frog catching at a local pond, left two very curious, yet cautious Croy children. Daddy and Uncle Jim took all the kids searching for frogs. They brought home not one or two, but 7 pretty large frogs. They had this great idea to take the fountain in our backyard and turn it into a frog oasis. It didnt quite turn out as planned, as the frogs were left getting trapped in the netting. They were set free, but not before the kids took their turns holding them!

Luck of the Irish

My cute little leprechauns!!

Kaydens school project- build a leprecahun trap On St Patty's day, the kids left on a scavenger hunt and the parent helpers released all the traps and turned the room upside down. The "leprechauns" got away but they left a little treat for each student. Such a fun day to be a kindergartener!!

Its just what he does!

Throughout basketball season, JRob would wait patiently after each game just to have the chance to shoot baskets on the big hoop. We often would hang out waiting for daddy, so it occupied him during that time. Back in November and December, the baskets would get overtaken by older kids that would take shots with his ball without realizing whose it was. JRob would wait patiently until he could run down his own ball and then work to get another shot off. He started out not even getting close to the rim, to eventually getting it up high enough to make it!! Once February hit, all the kids knew him and they would practically stand around and rebound for him. He LOVED It to say the least. This particular night, a group of boys included him in a half court game of 5 on 5. JRob was legitamately playing the game, passing to his teammates, playing defense and even getting a fews shots off. It is all he could talk about for weeks after! We are sad the season has come to an end for so many reasons, especially because of moments like these! Until next year.....

My little girl in her cocoon

Kayden will be turning 6 soon and I weened her off of naps last summer. But, occasionally when I know we are going to have a late night, I make her take a nap. This afternoon, I walked in to check on her and couldnt believe what I saw. This little one worked herself into a blanket cocoon and rolled herself right off the edge of her bed. She was in a dead sleep when I found her!
