JRobs Chapel Performance - October 2009

One of the things I love most about my kids going to a Christian preschool is the weekly ritual of Chapel on Monday mornings. The preschool classes gather in the sanctuary to sing and dance thier little hearts out to give praise to our God. At Calvary, they rotate every week so each class gets a chance to be on stage and "perform" a story from the Bible, sing/dance and to lead the classes in prayer. This week was JRobs class...We anxiously awaited the performance to see if he had indeed got any of the outgoing/performing genes that his sister proved to have at a very young age. Last Christmas, when JRob was a young 1 and a half yrs old, he took the stage bravely but stared at the crowd with a VERY blank stare. Surely, his age and maturity would allow him to "break out of his shell" and show everyone what a goof ball he really can be! Well, this performance proved to be no different than the one he took the stage for just under a year ago...Oh well, he is setting his sights on playing basketball and in some ways his performance- or lack there of - has prepared him to have that "game face" he will need when he takes the court for Duke when they play at North Carolina in 2029.

Although Kaydes class wasnt the one performing, she doesnt hold back when singing worship songs...As you can see in the pixs below, she works it! Love my Kaydes!!!!

Just chillin'.....

Oregon vs USC Womens Vball

One of the joys of coaching is getting to see your former players play at the next level. Even though this former Vanguard went on to play vball, it was a joy to get to take our current team to see her play vs. USC. Again, Rick was out of town, but I was lucky enough to have my mom and dad watch JRob so Kaydes could join the girls and I on this fun filled Saturday afternoon....

Mickey Mouse Trick or Treat Party 2009

Mickey Mouse Trick or Treat Party 2009

Halloween was quickly approaching and although this particular week in October was incredibly busy, I promised the kids I would take them to D-land for a SPOOKY celebration. Not knowing what this particular "Mickey" party would have in store, I was quite reluctant to spend an extra 30 dollars to take the kids when we have annual passes. Well, I can say that it was worth each penny spent, as the kids and I had a blast. My mom joined the kids and I, as Rick was out of town. She too, would agree that the night was filled with many smiles and not all of those smiles were from the kids. We enjoyed trick or treating thru the park, going on a few rides in Cali Adventure, joining in on a dance party and just having a fun night under the stars celebrating the festivities!
